It's a very special celebration.

Duma Manzi Private Game Reserve is a 5000 hectare, malaria – free reserve, majestically positioned and nestled in the spectacular mountainous region of the Umkomass Valley. Merely a one hour drive from Durban and forty five minutes from Pietermaritzburg. This is where Cecil John Rhodes and his brother, Herbert, farmed cotton in the 1870’s.
The Cecil John Rhodes Monument is situated in the heart of our reserve.

Duma Manzi Private Game Reserve is a special place where guests can simply be swept away by the spectacular scenery that unfolds with steep sandstone cliffs, deep river valleys, undulating hills and expansive plateaus or by the 12kms of the Umkomass River that flows through the reserve. The reserve boasts unspoilt grasslands, forests and valley thickets and supports a large variety of mammals and bird life.

Guests are encouraged to enjoy the tranquility and unique wildlife of this region of Africa, whether the choice is to linger on a close encounter with game on the planes or to be amazed by the extensive array of birds and the small creatures. We offer an exhilarating experience with our ranger, either on foot or in an open game viewing vehicle and game drives have the added bonus of having “sundowners” on either one of the spectacular viewing decks overlooking the reserve.

Guests can expect to see White Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Nyala, Zebra and the elusive Leopard to name a few.
The chalets are small and intimate and the maximum guest count is 30.
