Wander into the dining room adjoining the guest lounge in the main building. Here’s the bar, a magnificent large fireplace, stunning mosaic tiles inset into the tiled floors, and carved wooden pillars from Bali. Over there, big fat candles burn on an imported wooden sideboard. Look up, and there’s this marvellous bamboo (from Thailand) ceiling, with discreet recessed lighting.

Two huge overstuffed sofas are placed in front of the fireplace, where I can almost visualise myself sipping a sherry . . .
