The Olifants River lodge boasts a variety of activities for the whole family to partake in. Playgrounds provide children with a fun and safe environment in which to play. We recommend that you ride in the pedal-powered boats on the mighty Olifants River itself, or go for a lazy paddle on one of our many canoes.

If you are a keen fisherman, then be sure to bring your fishing rods and bait to attempt catching the large and powerful fish that swim about in the waters of the Olifants River.

If you seek more of a personal interaction with the natural environment, there are a number of short day walks that can help you explore the area surrounding the Olifants River Lodge. If it adrenaline that you seek, then be sure to pack your rock climbing gear, as there are a number of natural rock climbing routes that are bound to challenge even the experienced climber. Horse rides can be arranged and are a lovely way to encounter the natural beauty of the Olifants River valley. 
   
 4x4 enthusiasts will be pleased to know that they can test the power of their machines in the quarry just outside of Middelburg (18Km away from the Olifants River Lodge). 
   
 Middelburg also has a beautifully designed and well managed country club offering golf, tennis, squash or lawn bowls to anybody who is keen to play these respective sports. The Middelburg Country Club is no more than 20Km away from the Lodge. 
   
 If you own a powerboat, sailing dingy or catamaran, Witbank has a superb dam that is 35km away. The Witbank dam is ideal for both sailors and water skiers alike! The entrance fee to the dam is minimal and can be a fun day out for the entire family. 
   
 For the Adults, Champions Casino is 35km away towards Witbank. It is situated right next to the N12 highway, just outside Witbank .
 

Among these activities, we have a volleyball court that provide ideal team building opportunities for groups corporate or private groups. After a long day of relaxing in the sun, be sure to cool off in our refreshingly sparkling pool.

The fully licensed “Bush Bar” is the ideal place for evening drinks or late afternoon sundowners, and is the perfect venue for watching your favorite game on our large data screen. The bar opens up onto a patio, kept cool in the shade of large trees, whilst you look onto a panoramic view of the Olifants River valley. The Lodge offers a fully licensed restaurant for family meals, or the romantic dinner for two.

Olifants River Lodge accommodates day visitors, and gladly allows picnicking in our beautiful gardens. Whilst on your day visit, be sure to go for a day walk to explore our rich natural heritage here in the Olifants River valley. Be sure to pack your own picnic basket, although a kiosk is open, with all sorts of cold drinks and sweets for you to purchase.
