Berghof Guesthouse is 40 minutes from Cape Town and only a few minutes from the historical centre of Paarl. This picturesque town is the 3rd oldest town in South Africa and is dominated by the 2nd largest granite outcrop in the world. It was these granite boulders glistening in the sun after some rain that inspired Abraham Gabbema, in 1657, to name the mountain “the Diamond and Pearl Mountain” from which the name Paarl was later derived.

All of our 17 comfortable en-suite rooms have panoramic views over Paarl Mountain or Paarl Valley. Relax at our swimming pool and share the space with wonderful bird life. Enjoy our delicious breakfast with fresh fruits from the region. Have a sundowner at our African pool Bar or a casual BBQ at the braai area while watching the ever changing colours of the mountains.

Come and taste magnificent locally produced wines, cheese, olives and oils on nearby farms. Paarl boasts a wonderful range of restaurants which combined with our wines can offer you a unique dining experience.

Play golf at the world class 27 hole Boschenmeer Golf course or at the Pearl valley Golf Course designed by Jack Nicklaus. For the more adventurous there are numerous mountain biking, hiking and 4x4 trails in the near vicinity.
